A learning platform is a virtual space in which
Resources can be shared
Communication

Accessible
Attractive
Valuable

Design of the Platform is of the utmost importance. It should be useful for expert users and yet simple enough for users who have little IT knowledge. The designer must have the needs of different users in mind when designing the platform.
Are they looking to set work, submit work, access resources, communicate with teachers as colleagues, or with learners as colleagues or friends, assess and mark work, notify of events and myriad other purposes.

Learners and Teachers must want to use it for it to function properly.
They must be aware of it and aware of what is in it.

There are thousands of learners across Newham who could strengthen and deepen what is actually a learning community.

High Quality work, well presented and regularly updated will help to ensure that the site is accessed.
Learners can share this platform and associated sites with family and friends increasing the visibility of the learning community and reinforcing the learners’ sense of the worth of their endeavours and of the site which displays it and enhances their learning.
